Don't leave your best mate at home. Did you know you can bring them along to most Victorian state forests? The more to Explore app has all the state forest locations where you can take your dog. Check it out when planning your visit.

Once you've found a forest, make sure you pack the following items: bags to pick up after your dog, their toys, a lead, a water bowl and water to fill up the water bowl.

First, your dog must be on a leash and under your control at all times. The rules for bringing your dog to a state forest are the same as if you were taking them for a walk.

As always, you need to pick up after them.

Remember, if you're going on a long walk, your dog can get just as thirsty as you, so please stop and give them a drink.

If your mate bumps into one of their mates, it's always a good idea to ask if it's okay for them to have a chat.

Enjoy your next visit to one of Victoria's magnificent state forests. And don't forget to share your adventures with your favourite four-legged friend.

If you see an unleashed dog or something just doesn't seem right, please call 136 186 or visit the Explore Outdoors website to learn more.
