La Larr Ba Gauwa Mountain Bike Park is open again to visitors with all 11 trails repaired and ready to ride.
The reopening follows comprehensive trail and road access restoration works by the La Larr Ba Gauwa Committee of Management following damage from the 2022 floods. The committee also upgraded the park’s Picnic Gully Campground to improve the experience for campers and day-trippers.
Works to the park included repairing damage to all trails and improvements to drainage to help protect the park from future erosion from weather and use. The La Larr Ba Gauwa access track was also repaired.
Visitors looking to spend more time at the park will enjoy the improved facilities at the campground, with a new toilet block, fire pits and freshly resurfaced car park and road. New rock bollards and landscaping will also reduce impacts on the surrounding natural environment.
The upgrades were funded by the Victorian Government’s Victoria’s Great Outdoors and the federal and state governments’ Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Arrangements.
