About this walk

This enjoyable loop starts at the Powelltown Picnic area. Here, walkers can read about the history of the community and view tree logs loaded on original tramway bogies.

After crossing the Little Yarra River, walkers face a steep 1.2km climb which then gradually winds its way down through the picturesque Blackwood Gully. The trail then reaches the Yarra Junction – Noojee Road, where walkers head west, through Powelltown, past the present-day sawmill and back to the picnic area.
