About this picnic area

For those seeking a picnic site in a relaxing forest setting, the Waterfall Picnic Area is hard to beat. Site facilities include toilets, picnic tables, wood fire BBQs and firepits. The campground is spacious, with plenty of room for you and your family.

There is a short, easy walk to the seasonal Avoca Falls leading off the campground. The walking track follows Number Two Creek and is worthwhile even in the dry seasons. The Pyrenees Endurance Walk also starts from here for those looking for a challenge.

The surrounding forest offers visitors a wonderful mix of natural and cultural history. It is popular with 4WD enthusiasts, bush walkers, nature lovers and trial bike riders. Experience spectacular views, rugged mountain ranges and abundant wildlife and wildflowers.
