About this picnic area
Found halfway between Rushworth and Whroo, Halfway Dam is the perfect spot for a relaxed picnic.
The site has basic wood fire BBQs and picnic tables set amongst beautiful old ironbark trees. Wander around and enjoy the beauty of the bush or sit by the dam and enjoy the tranquillity.
A small mallee eucalyptus oil harvesting area is located around 100m north of the site, where patches of blue, bull and green mallee are harvested under licence for Eucalyptus oil production. Crush some leaves to release that wonderful eucalyptus smell.
From here, visit the forests around Rushworth and discover an abundance of historic sites and nature's living treasures.
