About this site
Enjoy a lovely forest drive to Blairs Hut in Mt Disappointment State Forest, 1.5 hours north of Melbourne.
This camping and picnic area was once the site of an old hut. The hut is long gone but the area is worth a visit for its scenic setting among the surrounding mountain ash trees. Bring friends and family for a lunch stop. Or pitch a tent, sit back and watch the red belly robins go about their day.
If you're feeling energetic, head off on the nearby Summit Walk, which takes you to the peak of Mt Disappointment.
Mt Disappointment State Forest is the traditional land of the Kulin nation. The Wurundjeri tribe looked after the land in the south and the Taungurung tribe looked after the land in the north.
