About this trail
The Thomson River Canoe Experience takes visitors along a 9km section of the Thomson River from Coopers Creek to Brunton's Bridge. This fantastic trail takes about 3 hours to complete and is ideal for paddlers with limited experience, with several easy grade 2 rapids.
You'll enjoy stunning scenery and local wildlife, including water dragons and lace monitors – also known as tree goannas.
It is recommended that visitors stay overnight at either end of the trail at Coopers Creek and Brunton's Bridge, with excellent camping facilities available at both and some great spots to swim on warmer days. Access to these camping areas is recommended by 4WD only.
