About this site
About a 1.5 hour drive from Melbourne, and a short drive from the township of Toolangi, you can set up camp or go for a leisurely stroll from the day visitor area through the majestic Californian Redwood plantation and Mountain Ash forest.
It is this unique feature that inspired the Traditional Owners, the Taungurung People, to name the site Walindjerri, meaning ‘giants’ in the native language. The name represents the battle of these giant trees.
Walindjerri Camp
This camping area provides a toilet and five campsites with back-in bays next to adjacent woodfire firepits for campers. One of the sites also has a picnic table. A walking track links to the nearby picnic area and onto the Redwoods Walk.
Walindjerri Picnic Area

Redwoods Walk
For those looking for a short, family-friendly adventure, there's a 0.5 km return walking trail from the day visitor area that meanders through this captivating forest.
