About this campground

Early stockmen first established this remote location, moving their stock from the north to south. They pushed their stock south for the summer through this rugged and remote terrain to chase the seasonal grass growth.

Nowadays, you'll discover a picturesque campground with basic modern facilities, including picnic tables, a gas BBQ, an information board and disabled and unisex toilet facilities.

Wonder at the endless fields of Banksia or take a walk to the top of the adjacent sand dune and capture a unique timeless view of the Big Desert Wilderness zone.

With no known local water source, bores were established throughout the Big Desert. The first of which was Big Billy Bore, setup in the 1800s. This campground has a bore and storage tank for washing and cleaning. However visitors will need to bring their own drinking water.
