About this site
This well-equipped campground and day visitor area in Mount Clay State Forest is a short drive from Narrawong and the delightful coastal town of Portland.
With access to Whalers Lookout Walk and the popular Mount Clay mountain bike tracks, the site offers a range of recreational activities and is great for families looking for an adventurous day out or a weekend away.
Sawpit has partial disabled access and is suitable for large groups.
Picnic area
In the day visitor section on the southern side of the site, you will find everything you need here for a relaxing picnic including a picnic shelter, picnic tables and BBQs. There is one toilet block, which is shared with campers.
Campground
A large, open campground is located on the northern side of the site. Access for caravans and camper vans is accommodated with wide roads and gates and a relatively flat landscape. There are BBQs, picnic tables, firepits and a toilet block shared with day visitors.
You can also access the popular Mt Clay Mountain Bike track circuit from this site, including bike tracks designed for children (pump track). The trail network has been divided into sectors and is suitable for a range of riding abilities.
