About this campground
O’Tooles Campground is the largest campground along the Aberfeldy Backroad 4WD Tour - Donnelly's Creek Loop, boasting an expansive open grassy flat surrounded by riverine forest.
Campsites are suitable for large groups and vehicle-based camping and there is an abundance of firepits, picnic tables and a toilet.
There is also a communal gazebo at the centre of the site, perfect for day visitors and campers alike, and a short walk will take you to the creek.
The O’Tooles held a lease on the land in the early 1900s after the end of the gold rush that took place along Donnelly’s Creek of the 1860s. The land reverted to Crown land eventually and Little O’Tooles and O’Tooles became campgrounds in the mid 1980s.
