About this campground

Set in the heart of the Big River State Forest just under 3 hours north-east of Melbourne, this campground is located alongside Big River and Frenchmans Creek.

This large and spacious campground can accommodate both small and large groups. Whether you’re camping in tents, swags, campervans or caravans, this site provides plenty of separate areas along the Big River. All sites are grassed and well shaded by mountain ash and manna gum with an understory of wattle and scrub.

This is a popular location with freshwater anglers and those keen to explore the nearby swimming holes.

The Big River State Forest is the traditional land of the Kulin nation. The Taungurung tribe looked after the land in the north and the Wurundjeri tribe looked after land in the south.

Relax and enjoy the magic of Big River.
