About this campground

Located in the Mansfield State Forest and set among gum trees, this large open camping area caters for both individuals and groups.

Specifically designed for horse riders, visitors will enjoy the amenities at Flat Spur which include a large undercover shelter, fire pits, picnic table, toilet and communal horse yards. The upper reaches of the Howqua River are just a short walk away.

While enjoying this peaceful campground, visit the nearby Bindaree Falls, take a drive to Craig’s Hut or venture into the adjoining Alpine National Park (dogs are not permitted in the National Park).

Please be aware that licenced tour operator groups have first option for use of the horse yards and group camping area. When not being used by tour operators, they are available for general use. The toilet and other areas of the campground are available for general use at all times.
