About this campground
Dermody’s Campground is an easily accessible campground by the Avon River with basic facilities for a comfortable stay.
This site is 2WD friendly and allows for both tent and vehicle-based camping. Flat campsites are dispersed among tall eucalypt forest with fire pits, picnic tables and a toilet available.
The campground provides easy access to the river and is also the starting point for the Avon River Trail. This 9km walk along the river features swimming holes and connects to the magnificent The Channel gorge.
The Avon-Mt Hedrick Scenic Reserve is made up of dry, open forest with a beautiful display of wildflowers in bloom each spring. See if you can spot some of the region's native wildlife - kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, goannas, kookaburras and lyrebirds are just some of the species which call this area home.
