About this campground

This is a site made for nature lovers. These box-ironbark forests are home to many native plants and animals. Set up camp here and observe the fascinating biodiversity of the surrounding forest.

Butchers is best suited to experienced, self-sufficient wilderness campers. It's a basic campground with no water and limited facilities.

Historically a gold mining area, this region has produced more gold nuggets than any other Australian goldfield.

With easy access off Kingower – Arnold Road, Butchers Campground can also be visited for a day trip to soak up the beauty and history of the area.

Featuring wood-fired BBQ pits and picnic tables, bring a packed lunch or food for cooking as you enjoy the quiet serenity.
