About this site
The Nunniong State Forest is home to many scenic and historic sites. Head out on the Nunniong Forest Drive from Ensay to experience the region’s natural charm and find camping options, walks and more.
Bentley Plain Campground
This campground sits along Nunniong Forest Drive within the Bentley Plain Scenic Reserve. The site boasts a former forestry hut, known as the ‘Bush Hilton’, which provides a glimpse into how forestry workers lived many years ago.
The campground is open with good access to several fire pits, a large picnic shelter and toilet.
The historical Moscow Villa Hut, Washington Winch and various walks are located nearby.
Bentley Plain Walk
The Bentley Plain Reserve protects areas of sub-alpine grassland, wet heathland and forest. This includes some sensitive and unique ecosystems of alpine sphagnum bogs.
You'll get to see some of this special flora on the Bentley Plain loop walk. Follow this loop across sphagnum moss beds, through eucalyptus and alpine ash forests. It continues out to a vantage point that gives you expansive views across Bentley Plain.
There are some short, steep hills on this walk and the occasional obstacle. Some bushwalking experience is recommended.
